KUTV, Chorale Arts Society of Utah, Cyprus Credit Union give $86K to Salvation Army
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The KUTV Holiday Pops Concert that aired, Dec. 12, 2020, generated $32,249 that was presented Tuesday to The Salvation Army - the largest donation to date in the 24 years the concert has been performed.
KUTV and Cyprus Credit Union also presented a check for $54,540 to The Salvation Army, which made the total donated more than $86,000 to the nonprofit and international movement.
2News Chief Meteorologist Sterling Poulson is the music director of the Choral Arts Society of Utah that is accompanied by the West Valley Symphony Orchestra for the annual concert. Because of COVID-19, the broadcast virtual concert included a compilation of past performances featuring:
Collin Raye,
Octapella,
George Dyer,
Paul Cardall
The Crescent Super Band, among others.
Funds raised from the concert are earmarked for the Salvation Army Angel Tree that provides holiday gifts for needy seniors and children throughout Utah.
This year's event sponsors included Cyprus Credit Union, Intermountain Harley Davidson, Smith’s, and Your Local Ford Stores.
