October 21, 2016 – San Francisco, CA The Salvation Army San Francisco Advisory Board and Honorary Committee is pleased to announce the 13th Annual Salvation Army Holiday Luncheon on November 17, 2016 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Ray & Joan Kroc Center at 240 Turk Street to kick off this year’s holiday season and honor Charlotte Shultz and Her Mayors.

This year’s luncheon pays tribute to Charlotte and George Shultz whose decades of leadership and unwavering commitment to the City of San Francisco have truly made a difference in the lives of countless people in need. Former United States Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice has teamed up with The Salvation Army as a member of the honorary committee. “I am delighted that The Salvation Army is honoring George and Charlotte for their longstanding support of the organization in San Francisco and for the contributions that they have made to the Bay Area and our nation through public service,” says Dr. Rice.

Luncheon guests will hear inspiring stories of courage, hope, and life transformation and enjoy a special performance by Beach Blanket Babylon.

The Salvation Army has been serving the San Francisco Bay Area, offering practical support, spiritual comfort and a critical safety net to people in need, without discrimination, since 1883. With 16 facilities throughout San Francisco, The Salvation Army provides a myriad of services, including youth programs, meal delivery to seniors, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, transitional housing, and nutritional and housing support for seniors and so much more.  In addition, the Army also provides disaster relief services.

For over 130 years, The Salvation Army has made a difference in the lives of San Franciscans by bringing social services and hope to the less fortunate. This past year was no different, as The Salvation Army provided almost $18 million in social services to those most in need in the City. The funds raised by this annual event ensure that The Salvation Army's six community centers and ten program and support facilities located in San Francisco continue to be a springboard to healthy, vibrant communities and neighborhood life.

Join us at the Holiday Luncheon and help us ensure that The Salvation Army’s many programs continue to provide support to those in need in San Francisco throughout the year.
