We fight poverty with love
By providing programs that serve the body, mind and soul, The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty - and works to address the root issues that cause it.
46.7 million Americans live below the poverty line. 60 million more live one crisis away.
Sadly, children raised in poverty are 32% more likely to remain there than their more fortunate peers.
Poverty doesn't have to be permanent. The Cascade Mobile Ministry of The Salvation Army helps those in need to overcome poverty through a variety of programs.
Shelter
Housing insecurity and prolonged poverty are strongly linked, and that's why we work to provide short and long-term housing assistance to displaced families and individuals. Our programs assists clients with housing prevention and housing retention.
Basic Needs
Our facility helps serve individuals basic needs by providing food and clothing, and connecting clients to facilities with shower and laundry services.
Intensive Case Management
As part of our comprehensive approach to helping families and individuals overcome poverty, we offer educational resources to assist individuals with navigating:
- Health Care
- Housing
- Tenancy support to connect individuals to rent subsidy programs
Outreach and Engagement Services
Our program utilizes a 15-passenger van to operate as a mobile office for outreach and case management services. We develop relationships with homeless individuals and families and work collaboratively with community-based contacts to serve the homeless population.
