In the town of Pelotas, children are caught in a dangerous cycle of generational poverty.
Poverty is a widespread issue in Pelotas, a town located in the rural south of Brazil.
While their parents work, children are often left home alone or unsupervised in the streets after school. Many become victims of gang violence, drugs, and trafficking, eventually dropping out of school altogether. Malnourishment and lack of support threaten the motivation and school performance of those who remain.
The Pelotas Integration Center brings hope to at-risk children in the community by providing holistic care, protection and academic support so that they can thrive.

WHAT DOES MY $25 A MONTH DO?
Your sponsorship directly meets the critical needs of the children (food, shelter, medical care, education and vocational training) at a Salvation Army center, funding long-term programs and projects which ensure we provide essential services to the children for years to come. Your donation will benefit the center of your choice for as long as they are participating in the child sponsorship program, and will also meet urgent needs at other centers as they arise.
