SINCE 1897, THE SALVATION ARMY has been creating unique, camping adventures for men, women, and children who would otherwise never be able to afford the blessing of a life changing camp experience. It's hard for some of us to believe, but many who visit one of our camps rarely experience life outside their own neighborhood. Every camper who enjoys a camping adventure at Aspen Alley Ranch will have the opportunity to make connections of a lifetime, develop character, discover new abilities, enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, and get a fresh perspective on life.
Provide guided wilderness adventures that allow for deeper exploration and development of the Christian characteristics and leadership skills that are imbued in each individual.
Aspen Alley Ranch is a wilderness retreat supporting opportunities for guests to unplug and find direction in the beauty of nature. Surrounded by the Medicine Bow National Forest, this 500-acre ranch is tucked in a high elevation (8200 ft.) watershed along the western slope of the Continental Divide in southeastern Wyoming on the headwaters of the Little Sandstone Creek.
Our friendly, compassionate and highly-trained staff will help campers acclimate, while navigating the complicated emotions often associated with their lives back home.
With equipment for 14, we offer campers backpacking trips and camping at the Adirondack Shelter. This rustic shelter is location two thirds of mile from the ranch base, featuring a cozy fireplace, picnic tables, and an inviting outdoor fire pit. Our dry camping areas are ideal for more traditional, rugged camping adventures with tents, RVs and trailers. No matter which camping area you sign up for, campers can enjoy a variety of awesome outdoor activities, including:
We follow a "Leave No Trace" policy and strive to keep groups to the 14 person limit in order to have a minimal impact on the surrounding wilderness.
American culture has veered away from a Christ centered life style to a "Me" centered lifestyle. People pick and choose which Christian characteristics they like, and those they don't like get tossed aside as non-relevant. With young adults (18 to to 30) leaving the church in significant numbers, they have created a leadership crisis in America.
Faith in God must precede the development of Christian characteristics, morals and values. The Aspen Alley Ranch Leadership Center programs are scripture based and are designed to strengthening an individual's faith foundation, then enable them to be strong leaders in their church, homes and communities.
