In conjunction with donations from the community, volunteers are also an equally important part of helping our programs maintain success. This year, a unique group, who assisted during our Thanksgiving meal preparation and delivery for the Older Alaskans Program, were part of a local car club called Tokouso, which represent a combination of Tongan and Samoan community members. "We work to peacefully bridge the two communities and are additionally working to expand our volunteer involvement in the greater Anchorage community," shared Wessa Lokeni Ula, a group member and organizer. We greatly appreciate their participation this past holiday season, as well as the participation of all who choose to give of their time to help our mission in serving those most vulnerable in our community. Together, all of our volunteers that day prepared and delivered 350 Thanksgiving meals to seniors in need in Anchorage.
