Chad Sparks

Dr. Sparks received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Society from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He then received his Master of Science and medical doctorate at the University Of Hawaii John A. Burns School Of Medicine in Honolulu. More recently, he received a Master of Business Administration from UCLA.

After medical school, he served in the US Navy as a board-certified Internal Medicine physician for 7 years. His experience included oversight of in-patient and ambulatory care as the Chair of General Internal Medicine. While serving in this capacity, he was very involved as a physician leader for quality improvement and served on numerous hospital committees and as the Clinical Champion for several population health measures.

For the past 8 years, Dr. Sparks has been in managed care. He started as a Utilization Management Medical Director at UnitedHealthcare where he worked on the TRICARE West Region, which has 2.9 million beneficiaries. Currently, he the senior Medical Director leading the California Medicaid business for Anthem Blue Cross.

Finally, he has been an Assistant Professor of Medicine at both the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine. He continues to be active in the Los Angeles community and served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Harbor Community Medical Centers.
