In Indonesia, widespread poverty leaves children at risk of abandonment and trafficking.

Children affected by poverty in rural Indonesia face numerous obstacles to their present and future well-being.

Many suffer from malnourishment and lack access to education. In the most desperate situations, children are abandoned by their families or victimized by traffickers who promise to shelter and provide for them near a school. Without a formalized foster care system in place, children in Indonesia who have been abandoned, abused, and rescued from trafficking rings need a safe place to receive care and rehabilitation.

The Surabaya Boys’ Home brings hope and healing to abused and abandoned children by providing holistic care, protection and education.

As a sponsor, you provide:

Holistic Care

You foster healthy child development by providing food, shelter, medical care and social and spiritual support.

Protection

You keep children protected and out of harm’s way in a safe, supervised environment.

Education

You prepare children to lead successful and fulfilled lives through access to quality education and life skills training in animal husbandry and t-shirt and mug printing.

Together, we help children rise above adversity and reach their full potential.

WHAT DOES MY $25 A MONTH DO?

Your sponsorship directly meets the critical needs of the children (food, shelter, medical care, education and vocational training) at a Salvation Army center, funding long-term programs and projects which ensure we provide essential services to the children for years to come. Your donation will benefit the center of your choice for as long as they are participating in the child sponsorship program, and will also meet urgent needs at other centers as they arise.
