We have a large team ready to assist and provide triage assessment and in-person initial intakes into our programs.

Our Team

Kelly BrownConnection Center Program Director

Lorraine Garcia, MSWConnection Center Coordinator

She enjoys spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Stephanie M. Amarillas, MSBA | Homelessness Prevention Case Manager

Experienced Case Manager specializing in complex need populations. She is also loving wife and mother with a heart of servitude and community.

Shanda Lee | Resource Case Manager

The newest case manager on the team. Shanda just moved to Denver from Hawaii, and arriving in winter has made her wonder why? Her mother is a social worker, so she grew up in a household where helping others was the standard.

"The look on people faces when you are able to give them some much needed support, makes it all worth it."

Briana Harris | Resource Case Manager

Briana is a 27-year-old Colorado Native. She graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has been in the healthcare field, specifically working with the homeless population, for about 4 years. She really enjoys helping people and providing services to underserved and disadvantaged populations.

"Interestingly, I do not like cold weather or snow!"

Haley Stephens | Resource Case Manager

Hayley has worked for the Salvation Army since Oct 2020 and has been in the Social Services field for 5 years. One of her favorite parts of working for The Salvation Army has been the different people she gets to meet. As a Colorado native she grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. When she's not at work she enjoys reading books, going to the mountains to ski, hanging out with friends, and a bit of photography on the side.

"A fun fact about me is I went to the University of Oregon for college, Sco Ducks!"

January Ryals | Homeless Prevention Case Manager

January has lived in Colorado for over 15 years and has worked with The Salvation Army since 2014. She enjoys helping others and working with such a diverse group of people.

"I love spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors."

Heather Grimes | Homeless Prevention Housing Navigator

Heather has been in Colorado since she was 2 years old and has witnessed all the amazing things that have happened in our State. After many years of being an advocate for her child with special needs she longed to work closely with God on her own growth and purpose driven life. Helping others has always been a part of her testimony and working for The Salvation Army, just enhances her journey.

"A fun fact about me- I refer to everything in song and no, I can’t exactly sing!"
