12 Years of Making Dreams Come True

Mar 10, 2020 | by The Salvation Army

Pasadena, CA. March 12, 2020 – The Salvation Army’s Pasadena Tabernacle Corps partners with the Pasadena Unified School District and Azusa Pacific University for its 12th annual Prom Attire Giveaway where excited young men and women - identified by the PUSD as in need of assistance - are invited to the Pasadena Corps on Saturday, March 14, from 8 am – 2 pm to “shop” for just the right dress or just the right shirt and tie – free of charge.

Pre-registered students, coming from many high schools within the PUSD, will arrive at various times with a parent or guardian and select the dress or shirt and tie that will help make their high school prom a night to remember. Some of the attire is lightly used, but many of the dresses are straight off the rack and have never been worn. The Prom Attire Giveaway is just one small part of the many social services The Salvation Army in Pasadena provides to the community. Walk-ins are also welcome.

“It may not seem like a big thing,” says Captain Terry Masango of the Pasadena Tabernacle. “But imagine what it means to a young person who would be outside looking in at their own prom if not for that event.”

The event will take place at the Pasadena Tabernacle Corps at 960 East Walnut Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91106.
