EDS Update: Tulsa / Owasso Oklahoma Tornado
After last night's tornado in Oklahoma, The Salvation Army deployed the Tulsa Area Command disaster canteen to provide food and drinks to rescue workers, survivors, and utility crews. Damage appears to be limited to residential areas, though several people were injured in the storms. Steven Hartsook, the EDS director, is in Tulsa today and the canteen will re-deploy. However, it does not appear that this will be a large operation and is likely to be of a very short duration.

In other news, the potential for damaging severe thunderstorms continues Thursday from parts of the Deep South into the Ohio Valley. Tornadoes, very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and flash flooding all remain possible threats from the storms. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has issued a tornado watch until 9 a.m. CDT Thursday for portions of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi. This includes Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
